Spruijt holds MSc degrees from the Technical University of Delft (City Planning & Urban Design, 1997) as well as from the University of Hong Kong (Interdisciplinary Design and Management, 2014). He has worked on dozens of developments in Amsterdam, Rotter- dam, New York, Baltimore, London and Hong Kong and was lead planner for regeneration projects, spatial-economic master plans, zoning plans, infra-structure projects and housing developments. Given his multi-faceted background and experience, Mr. Spruijt approaches each project with a thoroughly multi-disciplinary focus, a practical mindset, a healthy sense of urgency and a keen sense of quality and imagination in solutions.

Mr. Spruijt worked for local governments for over ten years and has extensive experience in stake- holder consultation and collaboration. In Rotterdam, The Netherlands, Mr. Spruijt worked together with residents and businesses to develop a new zoning plan for “Het Liskwartier” that respects the existing spatial and functional context but that also gives opportunities for future growth. The zoning plan is adaptable to urban shifts in economics and demographics while building on existing qualities.
